We operate the Laboratory Department with the goal of providing the most reliable and promptly test results, supporting the most clinicians in diagnosing and treating the disease.

Services and benefits of our laboratory:

The Laboratory Department is divided into 6 different functions of the department:

Clinical biochemistry

Laboratory tests can offer a wide range of analytics, of which the most common are: blood glucose (blood sugar), cholesterol, liver function, kidney function and cardiac enzymes.
These tests aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases such as diabetes, arteriosclerosis and liver and heart dysfunctions. We also offer testing for therapeutic drug monitoring, which enables us to prescribe the optimum level of the drug for a patient’s particular treatment.

Immunology

Immunology laboratory tests assist in diagnosing viral markers, tumor markers and auto-immune disorders such as hepatitis and rheumatoid arthritis. This type of testing can also help to give an early diagnosis of certain types of cancer.

Hematology

Hematology testing helps to estimate the number and quality of the cells that comprise the blood system. The most common tests performed are full blood counts and specific cell differentiation estimations. The objective of the test is to obtain an indication of your general state of health. It allows the diagnosis of anemia, leukemia and many other blood disorders. Moreover, hematology tests can also ascertain the blood’s clotting ability – especially relevant for deep vein thrombosis and patients on warfarin therapy.

Microbiology

These tests recognize organisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites present in a patients’ body and which cause infection. When an organism is identified, physicians will determine the best antibiotic to eliminate it.

Blood transfusion

Before performing a blood transfusion we will analyze a patient’s blood type and investigate the presence of any rare blood group antibodies. Patient undergoing surgical procedures always have their blood group tested and investigated in case they require a blood transfusion during or after surgery. Our priority is to ensure that patients receive the safest transfusion of blood and blood products possible.

Histopathology

Histopathology diagnoses clinical lesions and tumors and gleans essential information for physicians in detecting and treating for patients.
