In the past few days, anxious information has been published on several media channels saying there are 1,024 people, who came from territories or areas with reported confirmed cases of COVID-19, have been isolated in Binh Tan District in Ho Chi Minh City. People have been so worried due to that news.

Facing the current situation, City International Hospital is prepared to deal with the outbreak of COVID-19 and focuses on implementing prevention plans. Up until 19 February 2020, the Hospital has not yet received any suspected COVID-19 or COVID-19 infected patients.

Representative of City International Hospital, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Quang Binh - Deputy Medical Director shared: “the Hospital has not yet received any suspected COVID-19 or COVID-19 infected patients.” In compliance with the direction of the Ministry of Health, the Hospital quickly responded and promptly set up a screening process for patients, staff and visitors right at the main entrance, before he/she enters the hospital (body temperature, questions, fever, cough, etc.). Advice is then given, if suspected, the patient will be placed in a separate room to protect everyone until the patient can be sent to Tropical Hospital.

Implementing disease prevention measures

In compliance with the direction of the Ministry of Health, City International Hospital (CIH) is always ready to respond and quickly implement disease prevention measures through activities: establishing a Infection Prevention and Control Team, Covid-19 response drill, Continuing Medical Education (CME) focusing on the Covid-19 epidemic for latest updates, communicating on health education about the disease and disease screening at the main entrance of the hospital.

Before entering the hospital, right at the main entrance, visitors will be given face masks, disease instructional information and body temperature checked by the staff. Patients and visitors showing symptoms of with fever, cough, and shortness of breath ... will be directed to the isolation area for further checkup and monitoring.
