In response to the Examination and Treatment Administration Department (Ministry of Health) in November 2019, City International Hospital sent a poster to participate and won the 4th prize with the theme: “Application of room management process prevent medical incidents and improve patient safety culture at City International Hospital ”.

The poster of the City International Hospital winning the 04 prize out of 176 works attended. 

Safety of patients is the concern of each country, each health facility, especially of the people and the whole society. Over the past 7 years, the medical examination and treatment system in Vietnam has made many innovations in hospital quality, in terms of ways of thinking, ways of doing, and inspecting ... in order to ensure patient safety.

 This is one of many seminars on patient safety organized by the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment in 2019 to improve the responsibility of healthcare facilities and health workers in ensuring safety. whole patients, improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, towards the satisfaction of patients.

The delegation of the international conference implements a global solution for patient safety.

According to the World Health Organization's warning in the workshop document, medical incidents due to unsafe care are one of the top 10 leading causes of death and injury in the world. For every 10 people who get sick, 1 person will be harmed while receiving health care services, of which up to 50% are preventable.

Risks to hospital insecurity include hospital infections (affecting up to 10% of hospitalized patients), slow and inaccurate diagnosis, radiation exposure ... More than 1 million people deaths due to surgical complications / year.

 The World Health Organization also said that up to 14.3% of hospital costs are for treating the consequences of medical incidents.

 Statistics of Viet Duc Hospital at the workshop showed that up to 42% of incidents are caused by health workers, 32% by organizations and services, 8% related to patients, 8% due to factors. outside, 4% due to the working environment.

 Information at the workshop also showed that, thanks to policy implications, the proportion of health workers voluntarily reporting incidents has increased, but still low compared to mandatory reporting.
